Volunteer Your Time

If you are interested in volunteering at the Library, please turn in an application. Download, print and bring in the volunteer application or ask for the application at the Circulation Desk.

Donate Your Books & Media

Donations of books and audio-visual materials are always welcome. Most needed are hardcovers and paperbacks in good condition, magazines that are no more than 6 months old, books about Michigan, DVDs, and CDs. Please do not donate materials that are musty, dirty, or torn, or textbooks more than 3 years old, or LPs or audio cassettes. Please leave donations on the cart next to the Circulation Desk on the main floor or on the yellow wagon at the Troy Street (staff) entrance. Staff will be glad to give you a receipt for tax purposes.

Donate Your Money

Donations are used to supplement taxpayer support, funding library resources, programs, and furnishings, and circulating and online materials that benefit our community.

Your donation to the Royal Oak Public Library is deductible for federal income tax purposes.

Donor Recognition

Donors to the Royal Oak Public Library are recognized according to the Library's donor recognition policy. Donations of $200 or more are recognized on plaques displayed in the Library's main entrance lobby.

Levels of Giving

Acorn Society $200 - 499
Oak Leaf Society $500 - 999
White Oak Society $1000 - 2499
Red Oak Society $2500 - 4999

Gifts of $5000 or more receive special recognition, as determined by the Board of Trustees.
